Hirshfield's Wallpaper

MELINKI Wallpapers and Fabrics now at Hirshfield's

A FRESH IDEA FOR CONTEMPORARY, MODERN LIVING. Melinki, Scion's debut range, has an eclectic mix of non-woven wallcoverings, inspired by mid-century archive documents and modern Scandinavian design. These versatile wallcoverings enjoy a cool, clean palette of fashionable hues: coastal calm, retro kitsch, bakelite brights and urban neutrals.

We thought that you might like to hear what the creative team responsible for SCION think about their exciting first collection – ‘Melinki’.

In their 20s, 30s and 40s, the SCION team have different tastes and styles in their homes, and chose different designs and colours as their favourites - proving that there really is something for everyone!

What is your favourite ‘Melinki’ design, and why?

Carrots and Peas - it’s quirky and fun and has a wonderful fifties feel – perfect as a statement blind to introduce colour and pattern in to a kitchen” (Becky, Designer)

“I like them all, but Mr. Fox has to be my favourite... I simply love it!” (Emily, Marketing Executive)

Which colour way is your favourite?

“It has to be the ‘Emeralds & Limes’! I would love to move into the lounge that was photographed for that group!” (Claire, Weave Design Manager)

“The green group is my favourite – to me it reflects the brands confidence in colour in a fresh and exciting way” (Becky, Designer)

“This has to be the hardest choice for me! The 'Urban Zest' is really ‘on trend’, with a Mid-Century Modern influence, but it’s also incredibly versatile and usable in a contemporary home – I love the yellow tones against the charcoal greys!” (Deryn, Designer)

“The clever mix of embroidery and print in Athyrium (above) creates a wonderful three-dimensional feel – this design really brings the outdoors in! The choice of colourways makes it useable in any room” (Alison, Marketing Director)

Above from Thibaut Wallcovering's Anna French collection, Wild Flora.

Anna French's Wild Flora is a gorgeous vintage floral collection with designs created as individual expressions of art. The collection pushes the boundaries of document designs with printing techniques on foils and textured non-woven papers. Traditional designs are given a modern twist with mirrored flowers, white on white prints, and a tarnished metallic effect that resembles a Venetian palace mirror. The “Songbirds” pattern in gold on tarnished foil was recently awarded "Best Wallpaper" by the UK magazine Homes & Gardens. See the collection at our showrooms (call ahead to make sure the book is available) or view additional designs at www.annafrench.co.uk.
